 Adults: Welcome to Celtic Junior Tri.

The aim of the club is introduce your child to the sport of triathlon by providing an experience which is enjoyable and progressive to enhance your child’s skill level, broaden their social circle and to develop their physical conditioning.

All physical activities are coordinated and delivered by experienced and qualified coaches. The activities will fall within the criteria set by the British Triathlon Association for each individual age category.

Physical activities will take place at Cwrt Herbert Playing Fields and predominately be delivered of grass with use of an 850 metre gravel path. A risk assessment will be carried out to ensure your child’s safety.

For your child to participate in the activities it is important that:

• A mountain bike is the preferred choice of bike as most of the sessions are on grass.
• Your child’s bicycle is mechanically sound and in good working order.
• Your child must have a helmet which meets the required safety standards. No helmet no training.
• Your child is expected to wear appropriate sports clothing and footwear. It is advisable to bring a rain jacket due to changes in weather.
• Your child should bring some form of liquid refreshment such as a water bottle as they may become thirsty.

Throughout the summer months the Welsh triathlon association put together a series of races known as the Tristars for children between 8 – 16 years. It is advisable that your child is a member of the Welsh Triathlon Association to be eligible for the Welsh Championships.
